Sheffield United, the first English soccer team, qualified for the semi-finals of the FA Cup, after defeating Blackburn Rovers 3-2, during the match that brought them together, Sunday, in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The first half ended in a 1-1 draw, as Blackburn advanced with a goal scored by Benjamin Brereton at the 21st minute from a penalty kick, then Sheffield equalized with a goal scored by Sam Gallagher, Blackburn player, by mistake in his team’s goal «28».
In the second half, Blackburn took the lead again with a goal scored by Samuel Szmodex (60), then Oliver McBurney equalized for Sheffield (81), but Tommy Doyle scored the winning goal for Sheffield in the first minute of stoppage time for the second half.
