Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – FIFA revealed the identities of the players voted for by Egypt’s captain, Mohamed Salah, and Saudi captain Salman Al-Faraj, in the “The Best” awards.
The Argentine player, Lionel Messi, won the award after a fierce competition with the French, Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe.
And the coronation of the 2022 World Cup title in Qatar favored Messi over the rest of his competitors, after he awarded the World Cup title to his country, which came after 36 years of waiting.
Mohamed Salah voted for the Brazilian player for Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior, as the first choice, and the Belgian player for Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne, came in second place, while Salah chose the Moroccan full-back for Paris Saint-Germain, Ashraf Hakimi, as the third option.
For his part, Salman Al-Faraj chose Messi as the first option, Benzema as the second option, and Mbappe as the third option.
