According to state media, Kim Jong Un said on Monday that his country “should be ready to launch nuclear counter-strikes against its enemies.”
This comes after Kim, according to his media arm, directed a set of tactical exercises over the weekend that simulated a nuclear counterattack, including the firing of a ballistic missile with a dummy nuclear warhead on it that exploded in the air.
North Korea also revealed its counter-attack nuclear drills, after the United States and South Korea took part in joint air exercises on Sunday. The exercises included strategic bombers, stealth aircraft and fighter jets, which Kim deems a “provocation”.
