The English Football Association announced, on Tuesday, that Manchester United and Crystal Palace were fined 55,000 pounds each, due to the group confrontation that occurred between players in an English Premier League match, earlier this month.
The confrontation took place during the second half of the match that took place on February 4, and United won it at home 2-1, when Casemiro received a direct red card, after pulling Will Hughes by the neck during a clash between the players of the two teams after blocking Anthony.
United admitted failing to ensure that its players behaved in a disciplined manner, and that it did not spare them provocative behaviour, while Palace rejected the accusation.
The FA said in a statement: “The Independent Disciplinary Committee found that the accusation against Crystal Palace was substantiated and fines were imposed on the two clubs.”
United, who ranks third, hosts West Ham in the fifth round of the FA Cup, on Wednesday, while Palace, who ranks 12th, will visit Aston Villa in the league, next Saturday.
