Kevin Trapp, goalkeeper of the German soccer team Eintracht Frankfurt, still hopes to become the first choice in the German national team’s goalkeeper.
“I always have big goals in my career,” Trapp said in an interview with Bild am Sonntag newspaper on Sunday. “What kind of work ethic will I have if I settle for less?”
Hansi Flick, coach of the German national team, said recently that Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be the main goalkeeper during Manuel Neuer’s absence.
The Bayern Munich goalkeeper suffered a leg fracture that would keep him out for the end of the season, while he was skiing during his vacation after the end of his participation with the German national team in the World Cup that was held in Qatar, and it is not yet clear whether the goalkeeper will be ready to participate in the European Nations Championship ( Euro 2024) to be held in Germany.
Trapp said, “I am a person who recognizes the performance of other players, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen is having a very good season. The coach of the national team said he wanted to give us the opportunity to prove ourselves.”
“So, I assume I will get my chance, and once I get it, I want to take it. My mission is very clear, I want to do well and make the decision he will make very difficult.
