US intelligence has estimated that 80% of Wagner fighters have died or been wounded since last year, but the Russians seem to prefer their chances with Wagner on the front lines rather than fighting with the official Russian military forces there.
In a new video clip, Russian soldiers are shown begging the Wagner Group to remove them from the army and include them in the private army instead.
“Unfortunately, the situation here has dissolved our unity. We ask to be allowed to join your ranks. There are ten of us here ready to fight,” one of the soldiers said in the video.
Putin recently acknowledged the losses, saying that units of his secret intelligence agency, the FSB in particular, had suffered losses because of the war.
He also indicated that the units that suffered losses were directly participating in the “special military operation” to actively combat terrorism, organized corruption and extremism, as he described it, and talked about deaths among them.
