(CNN) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in a decree, Sunday, that the commander of the Ukrainian joint forces operation Moskalov Eduard Mikhailovich had been dismissed from his post, without announcing the reasons behind the decision.
Moskalov Eduard Mikhailovich was appointed to the position on March 15, 2022, after former commander Oleksandr Pavlyuk was appointed head of the Military Administration of the Kyiv Region.
It is not clear why Zelensky fired the commander of the joint forces.
This dismissal comes days after the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
Last January, the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense, Vyacheslav Shapovalov, resigned from his position as responsible for the army’s logistics services, against the background of a scandal related to food purchases for the army, and the Ukrainian Deputy Prosecutor General was dismissed, hours after the resignation of the deputy director of the Ukrainian President’s Office. .
