Atlanta, USA (CNN) – A spokesman for groups affiliated with the Ukrainian armed forces on the eastern front, Serhiy Sherevaty, told CNN, on Wednesday, that the Ukrainian army has not made a decision to withdraw from the city of Bakhmut, in the east of the country.
“If we see that the threat to our people and our operations is greater than the need to control the ground, we do it (withdraw forces), but we do it in an orderly manner, without panic,” Shirivati added.
“It is only up to the leadership to see to what extent there is such a need in this case, and then the relevant decision is taken at the staff meeting,” he added.
The Ukrainian official concluded by saying: “I can say that there is no decision in this regard now,” as he put it.
