Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The UAE announced, on Friday, the inclusion of 3 individuals and entities in the “local list of persons, entities and organizations supporting terrorism.”
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE Cabinet issued a decision regarding “the inclusion of 3 individuals and a terrorist entity in the approved local list of persons, entities and organizations supporting terrorism.”
The WAM agency stated that the list included: “Hassan Ahmed Maklad, Rani Hassan Maklad, and Rayan Hassan Maklad, and the entity is CTEX Exchange.”
The decision comes within the framework of the UAE’s keenness to target and disrupt networks associated with facilitating terrorist financing and its associated activities, and to strengthen international cooperation to combat terrorist financing, according to WAM.
And the agency continued, “All regulatory authorities must take stock of any individual or entities affiliated with or linked to any financial or commercial relationship, and take the necessary measures according to the laws in force in the country, including the freezing procedure in less than 24 hours.”
