The Abha team strengthened its lead in the Saudi Reserve League after its valuable victory over Al-Fayhaa, its host, with a score of 1-0 during the confrontation that took place on Friday, at Al-Majmaa Sports City Stadium in the second round of the competition.
Abha’s goal came through Saad Al-Salouli in the 22nd minute, thus raising the team’s score to 17 points in the lead, while Al-Fayhaa remained sixth with 7 points.
In another match, Al-Fateh defeated Al-Taei by a clean four, which was scored by Hassan Saleh from a penalty kick (31), Saad Al-Shurafa (47 and 67), and Khaled Kamal (90).
With this result, Al-Fateh kept the point difference between Abha, the leader, after raising its score to 16 points in second place, and on the other hand, Al-Taie remained in the seventh and last place with 5 points.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Football Association approved the reserve league as part of the competitions of the current sports season, with the participation of 7 teams, namely: Al-Shabab, Al-Ittifaq, Abha, Al-Fateh, Al-Fayhaa, Al-Ta’i and Al-Wahda, with the full league system “back and forth”, provided that its matches are synonymous with the confrontations of the Saudi Roshan League. The participating teams have a total of 42 matches per season.
