On Tuesday, the Ministry of Culture launched the Arabic Poetry Research Grant, coinciding with the International Poetry Day, and in cooperation with its Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, as part of the activities and programs of the “Year of Arab Poetry 2023” initiative, which aims to pay attention to it as a major component of the Saudi and Arab identity.
The grant comes in several tracks, including poetry between eloquent and spoken dialects, poetry and digitization, between freedom and creativity and the restrictions of belonging, and poetry in the presence of the world, place and the Arabian Peninsula, as it targets those interested and specialized in research in its various fields from inside and outside Saudi Arabia. The individual, enriching the developed and sustainable creativity in the field, and to highlight the cultural component and the way it is rooted in the history of the Arabian Peninsula.
The Ministry revealed the paths of the grant and its details in a tweet through its official account on the social networking site Twitter: “In conjunction with the International Poetry Day, the Ministry of Culture announces the launch of the Arabic Poetry Research Grant in partnership with the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, in a targeted step towards consolidating the bonds of identity and promoting the values of pride.
