The Saudi show jumping team qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, after achieving first place in the Group G qualifiers at the Doha International Show Jumping Championship, yesterday.
The Knights of Green were able to snatch the qualification card after presenting a distinguished performance among the participating teams, to return to the Olympics after an absence of 12 years, as the last Saudi participation was in the London Games in 2012. The Saudi jumping team was represented by: Olympic rider Ramzi Al-Dahami, and Olympic rider Abdullah Al-Sharbatly And the knight Abdul Rahman Al-Rajhi, and the knight Khaled Al-Mabti.
He assured Al-Riyadhiya, Prince Abdullah bin Fahd, President of the Saudi Federation for the game, that the achievement of this achievement comes with the grace of God and then the great support given by the wise leadership to the nation’s sport.
He added that the Ministry of Sports provided great support in order to equip the Saudi show jumping team by purchasing horses in cooperation with the Olympic Training Center, which set up the preparatory program and contracted with the technical director.
The head of the Equestrian Federation said, “We thank God that this contributed to early qualification for the Paris Olympics, despite the existence of another opportunity in the next Nations Cup.”
He continued, “There will be a different program to prepare our knights champions in the coming period, which will include official benefits that we seek to benefit from as preparation for the knights before participating in the Paris Olympics.”
It is noteworthy that the Saudi show jumping team holds an honorable record in the Olympic Games, as it previously achieved the bronze medal for teams at the Olympic Games in London 2012 AD, as well as the Olympic knight Khaled Al-Eid achieving the bronze medal in Sydney 2000 AD.
