Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The National Center for Earthquakes in Syria sent, on Saturday, a message of reassurance to citizens, stating that “the seismic situation in Syria has begun to take the character of interim stability, despite the large number of aftershocks that the country has been exposed to,” according to the news agency. Syrian government agency “SANA”.

And “SANA” published on its Twitter page that the National Earthquake Center said that “61 weak tremors were recorded at the center’s stations during the past 24 hours until eight on Saturday morning.”

The center added, “The seismic situation has begun to take on the nature of interim stability, despite the large number of tremors. There is a medium to weak seismic transitional phase in the Iskenderun region.”

At the same time, the center confirmed, on Friday evening, that “an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck west of the city of Latakia in the Mediterranean Sea at 11:10 pm.” And the National Seismological Center stated in a statement that the tremor was at a depth of 28.3 kilometers in the sea, 48 kilometers west of Latakia, according to what was quoted by the Syrian News Agency.
