Kuwait’s first Kuwaiti football team reached the second round of the King Salman Cup for Clubs 2023, after a “1-1” draw with its Algerian host, Shabibat Al-Saoura, at the Miloud Goalhafi Stadium in Oran, on Tuesday, in the second leg of the first round of the qualifiers for the group stage.
Kuwait had won the first leg at home with a goal without a response, so the Kuwaiti team qualified by winning the two matches “2-1”.
Kuwait advanced by scoring the first goal through Taha Yassin at the “64th” minute, before the Al-Saura youth equalized by Elias Dawson at the “76th” minute.
Kuwait will face the winner, against Mauritanian Nouadhibou and Jordan’s youth, provided that the qualifier joins the fourth group, which includes Algerian youth athletes Belouizdad, and Moroccan sports hope.
It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia will host group matches next July in the cities of Taif, Abha and Al-Baha.
