Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – American-Mexican actress Salma Hayek, through her account on “Instagram”, published pictures of her visit to Wadi Rum in Jordan, accompanied by her husband, François-Henri Pinault, and commented on the pictures by saying: “Inhaling the magic of Jordan,” and published hashtags About Jordan and visit Wadi Rum.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the tourist valley is located in the (Hismi) area in southern Jordan, 70 km north of the city of Aqaba.
The agency states that Wadi Rum is known as the “Valley of the Moon”, and Prince Faisal bin Al-Hussein and Lawrence of Arabia took it as a command center during the Great Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Turks, and this site witnessed the heroic deeds of these two leaders.
The elements of nature, winds and weather formed towering and majestic natural skyscrapers described as (with endless echoes), and the heads of huge, compact, coordinated and 1,750-meter-high rocks above the desert land constitute a natural challenge for professional mountain climbers, according to the agency.
Wadi Rum allows hikers to enjoy the stillness and tranquility of the universe, with vast expanses, and discover rock paintings dating back 4,000 years and amazing treasures hidden within this place.
In the valley there is the “Stone Bridge” in Burdah, which is the highest bridge in Wadi Rum, and it is crossed by the road called “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom”.
It is noteworthy that the icon of presenting American programs, Oprah Winfrey, recently shared a glimpse of her tourism experiences during her visit to Jordan in a post on “Instagram”.
Winfrey wrote, “I visited Jordan this week,” adding, “There was a lot to see and experience.” She also visited the ancient city of Petra, also known as the “Pink City,” and Winfrey recommended her followers to put this destination on the list of places to visit.
The foundation of Petra dates back to the seventh century BC at the hands of the Arab Nabatean tribes who abandoned it a thousand years ago, and it is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Jordan and the world.
It is noteworthy that the coastal city of Aqaba in Jordan has been included in the annual list of the American “Time” magazine for the best tourist places in the world, for the year 2023, and the magazine indicated that the city of Petra, classified among the new wonders of the world, is only 78 miles away from it.
The list included 4 other Arab countries, namely the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco.
