Many parents give their children fever-reducing medication too quickly, according to a new US survey conducted by CS Mott Children’s Hospital. The researchers found that 1 in 3 of them give their children the medicine for a low-grade fever, which is less than 37.7 degrees Celsius.
Pediatricians warn against using antipyretics in this way because they say the medicine masks the real problem, the cause of the fever.
