Milan’s first soccer team defeated its guest, Atlanta, 2-0, on Sunday, to establish its feet in the golden square of the Italian first division, and extend its winning streak for the third consecutive match in the competition.
Milan took the lead at the 25th minute with a reverse goal, accidentally scored by Atlanta goalkeeper Juan Musso in his own net when the ball hit his back while trying to tackle a long shot from Teo Hernandez.
Midfielder Junior Messias doubled the lead shortly before the end of the match when he fired a shot over Musso after receiving a pass from striker Rafael Leao.
Milan rose to third place with 47 points, level with second-placed Inter Milan, while they are three points ahead of AS Roma, who visit bottom club Cremonese on Tuesday.
Atlanta remains in sixth place with 41 points.
