Frenchman Kylian Mbappe renewed his commitment to his club, Paris Saint-Germain, stressing his desire to win the Champions League.
Mbappe became the historic scorer for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions, after he scored a goal during the team’s 4-2 victory over his guest Nantes, yesterday, Saturday, in the French League.
The 24-year-old Mbappe scored his 201st goal in 247 games during his career with Saint-Germain, one goal away from the previous record, registered in the name of veteran Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, who scored 200 goals in 301 matches.
After winning the World Cup with France in 2018, and winning five titles in the French League, Mbappe is still looking to win the Champions League title, after he won the runner-up after the French capital team lost the 2020 continental competition final against Bayern Munich.
And while Mbappe considers that his coronation in the Champions League will inevitably happen, he stressed that the result of the return match against Bayern will not have a direct impact on his future in Saint-Germain.
In response to a question in this regard, Mbappe said in a press conference: “I think that if I read my future, it is winning the Champions League, and respecting my contract with the club. Germain».
Mbappe’s only focus now is on pushing Paris Saint-Germain to achieve a positive result in Munich, as he returned from injury in the first-leg match between the two teams, and scored the equalizing goal for the French team, before the referee canceled it for offside.
Mbappe stressed: “It is a good moment for me to become the historic scorer of Paris Saint-Germain, but for the team, the good moment is the three consecutive victories that we achieved recently after the defeat against Bayern, and this is the most important thing.”
The French player pointed out: «Of course, I am happy, this is important for the team. But the most important thing is that the team recovered and looked ready for the challenge in Munich on Wednesday.
For his part, Christophe Galtier, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his pride in coaching Mbappe.
“It’s an honor to have an experience like this,” Galtier told reporters. It is a privilege for the coach to have a player like Kylian who is in my opinion the best striker in the world. Our fans, as well as people who love French football, should appreciate the value of having such a player in our league.
The French coach indicated that he is determined to break many records, to make sure that the team wins, and that Saint-Germain goes as far as possible.
