Lukashenko meets Chinese President during his 13th visit to Beijing

Atlanta, United States of America (CNN) – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Wednesday, according to the official Belarusian “Belta” agency.

The two leaders greeted each other in the Great Hall of the People, and introduced their delegations to each other, Belta said.

The national anthems of the two countries were played, and the two leaders took pictures with each other before leaving for official talks.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko hailed China’s “calm and measured progress” in a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing on Wednesday.

On his 13th visit to the country, Lukashenko will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Li Keqiang said in preliminary remarks before the discussions that the two leaders will meet “this afternoon.”

The Belarusian leader confirmed that he will hold talks with Xi as agreed in Samarkand last fall, where he said he will try to identify new prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
