The Saudi Football Association approved the organization of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup with the participation of 32 teams, starting from the next sports season, according to what the Saudi Football Association announced in the results of its meeting, which was held on Thursday.
After the meeting held under the chairmanship of Yasser Al-Mishal, the federation indicated that the tournament includes 18 teams from the Roshen Saudi Professional League and 14 highest-ranked teams before the start of the season from the Yellow Professional League, provided that a draw for the round of 32 will take place on two levels, and an open lottery after each round, starting from the end of the round of 32. .
During the meeting, the Federation Council also reviewed the plan to host the Club World Cup 2023, praising the teamwork with the Ministry of Sports and the concerned authorities in setting up the necessary arrangements for hosting, as well as reviewing the preparations for the visit of the delegations of the International and Asian Federations regarding the organization of the 2027 Asian Cup and the 2023 Club World Cup.
