It was so charred that it was not recognizable. A corpse was found in the middle of a burning stove

First responders arrived at a home in Cary on Menard Road yesterday morning and initially contacted the homeowner before he disappeared, then made a discovery in the backyard.

According to the police, there was a badly burned body in a stove, and the owner of the house was found in a vehicle with gunshot wounds to himself.

Sergeant Kenrick Alexander, of Cary Police, said: “This is not an ordinary occurrence in Cary. We are usually rated as one of the safest cities and we are very proud of that rating, but that doesn’t mean we are immune to things happening here. Something like that.” The genre is definitely out of the ordinary, so it raises a lot of questions not only within the community, but also in the police department.”

Cops hope the autopsy may shed some light on the identity of the body found in the fireplace.
