Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Egyptian club, Zamalek, decided, on Wednesday, to dispense with the services of the team’s coach, Portuguese Josevaldo Ferreira, according to the team’s announcement on its social media accounts.
And the “White Knight” account said: “Thank you, Ferreira, for everything you have given to our club. We wish you success in everything that is to come.”
This is the second time that the Zamalek club has broken its association with the Portuguese coach, as it had previously dismissed him in late January, before deciding to return.
Ferreira’s dismissal comes after the poor results of the “White Knight” in local competitions, and after the early exit from the African Champions League, from the first round.
Ferreira had supervised Zamalek’s training twice, the first during the 2014-2015 season, and the second since the middle of the 2022 season until now, during which he was dismissed for days.
The 76-year-old Portuguese coach won a number of titles with the “White Knight”, including the Egyptian League and the Egypt Cup.
