Hirosantosh Cup .. Megyala and Karnataka to the final

The Indian teams, Megyala and Karnataka, qualified for the final of the Hirosantosh Football Championship, in its 76th edition, which is hosted by Riyadh and organized for the first time outside India.
Mejayala reached the final after overcoming its counterpart Punjab 2-1 in the first semi-final match at King Fahd International Stadium, while Karnataka beat its rival Service 3-1 in the second match at the same stadium.
In the first match, Megayala overturned its deficit against Punjab to a victory with two goals, as the second took the lead with the first goal in the 16th minute, before Megayala returned to a tie in the 37th minute, and the first half ended with a score of 1-1.
In the second half, Megayala was able to resolve the confrontation with a fatal goal at the 90 + 1 minute, to come out as a winner “2-1”.
In the second match, the same scenario was repeated, as Service advanced with the first goal at the 40th minute, but their joy did not last more than 3 minutes, as Karnataka equalized 43 before adding the second goal at the 45 + 1 minute, ending the first half ahead 2-1 and strengthening its lead with the third goal at the minute 77.
The final and third place matches will take place at King Fahd International Stadium, next Saturday.
It is noteworthy that it is the first time that the tournament is played outside India, within the framework of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Football Association and its Indian counterpart signed last October, as part of the Saudi Federation’s efforts to strengthen cooperation frameworks with all federations on various continents.
