“He is a legend of Liverpool.” Jurgen Klopp praises Mohamed Salah

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Jurgen Klopp, coach of Liverpool FC, praised the Egyptian player, Mohamed Salah, noting that his contribution to what the team achieved in the past years was “immeasurable.”

The Egyptian star had joined the “Reds” in 2017, to be one of the most prominent players in the ranks of the famous English club.

Salah won a number of titles with Liverpool, including: the English Premier League, the Confederation Cup, the League Cup, the European Champions League, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

The 30-year-old striker is the Reds’ top scorer in European competitions with 42 goals, and is on the team’s top scorer list throughout history.

“He is a Liverpool legend, this is what happens with legends,” the German coach told Sky Sports about Salah, adding: “You only realize how great they were when they were no longer here, as long as they are here, they enjoy great games and normal ones, as well.” Games are not good.

He continued, “The moment he (Salah) is no longer here, someone will look at the numbers and say, ‘Wow, we have seen real greatness, that’s the truth.’”

And Klopp added: “But I am his coach, we can celebrate his career when we are both finished, and think about how great it was and it will be like this 100%.”

And the Liverpool coach continued: “But until then, we have to work. Mohamed Salah may miss opportunities and may also score goals, there is no doubt about that.”

And Klopp concluded: “I love when he can get new records because he wants to get them too. Salah’s contribution to everything we have achieved in the past few years you cannot measure, it is enormous.”
