British boxer Tommy Fury won the title of “The Truth Fight” in the heavyweight category, by defeating American Jake Powell, by decision of the referee, in the eighth round, on Monday in Riyadh at the Diriyah Circuit, as part of the activities of the second edition of the Diriyah season.
Fury won the global fight, which is organized by the Ministry of Sports, under the supervision of the Saudi Boxing Federation, in cooperation with the Skill Challenge Entertainment Company. Fury hit 302 punches compared to 157, and strong blows 148 for the first and 78 for the second.
The match between the two boxers extended to 8 rounds before, and the result was close between them in all rounds, until the fight was decided by a decision from the referee.
The Diriyah Season, in its second edition, seeks to strengthen the Kingdom’s position as an international destination for hosting international events and championships, thus contributing to the growth of the national economy, supporting the trend to open new horizons for sports and athletes, and developing the sports sector, according to the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
