Spaniard Carlos Sainz, Ferrari’s driver, set the fastest time in the morning of the second day of the Bahrain test
Preceding the start of the new season of the Formula 1 World Championship, which took place on Friday, while Spaniard Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin driver, was in the top three again.
Sainz recorded the fastest lap time, as he recorded a minute of 32.486 seconds on the track that hosts the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix on the fifth of next March, defeating American Logan Sargeant, the Williams driver, by 0.063 seconds.
Alonso, twice world champion, who came second overall on Thursday, finished third, 0.483 seconds behind the leader.
Alonso is scheduled to participate in the evening session that takes place on Friday.
Dutch world champion Max Verstappen, Red Bull driver, topped the standings on Thursday, but handed over his duties to his Mexican teammate Sergio Perez, who came seventh on Friday morning, and is scheduled to participate in the period.
Briton Lewis Hamilton, the Mercedes driver and seven-time world champion, came eighth.
