Manchester United will meet another Spanish team in the round of 16 of the European Football League after eliminating leaders Barcelona to set up a date with Real Betis, while Arsenal will face Premier League leaders Sporting Lisbon, Portugal.
Manchester United outperformed Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate, thanks to its 2-1 victory at Old Trafford in the second leg of the playoffs at Old Trafford yesterday, Thursday, to continue the competition for four titles this season and the development led by its Dutch coach Eric ten Hag.
The English team is seeking to win its first title since winning the European League in 2017, led by Portuguese Jose Mourinho, who is currently leading Rome, who also set a date with Real Sociedad in the round of sixteen.
Arsenal succeeded in skipping the group stage in the European League by winning five of its six matches in the group, and it will meet Sporting in the round of sixteen after the Portuguese team surpassed its Danish counterpart Mityaland in the appendix.
