Carlo Ancelotti: We will not defend against Liverpool… This is my response to Eden Hazard’s statements

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said that his team does not think of a defensive method of play, but rather of adopting an attack against his English counterpart, Liverpool, indicating that the match will be “open.”

“Al-Merengue” will meet the “Reds”, on Wednesday evening, in the second leg of the 16th round of the European Champions League for the 2022/23 season.

Real Madrid had defeated Liverpool in the first leg, 5 goals to 2.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the Italian coach said: “The message is clear, we don’t have to make any calculations, what we have to do is play as best we can.”

Ancelotti added: “We have to go into the game the same way we played in the first leg, we don’t think about what could happen, we just play with as much passion as possible and win the match.”

He continued: “I think it will be an open match because Liverpool is coming here with the aim of turning the confrontation around. We must play well in both areas: defense and attack. We do not think about defense, we think about attack.”

Earlier, the team’s striker, Eden Hazard, revealed that he does not talk much with Carlo Ancelotti, but he emphasized his respect for the coach permanently.

The Italian coach responded to Hazard, saying: “It is not a cold relationship, we do not talk much, it is true, for me this is not the most important thing, but he respects me even though he does not play much.”

And Ancelotti continued: “I also respect him, he does not play because there is a lot of competition, and there is Vinicius Junior who plays in his position and he contributes a lot.”
