Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The United States of America has imposed sanctions on an Iranian network that works in military procurement on behalf of the Iranian Ministry of Defense.
This came in a statement by the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, in which he said: “The United States is designating 4 entities and three individuals on the sanctions list under Executive Order No. 13382, for their involvement in an Iranian military supply network related to Iran’s drone programs.” The supply network operates This is on behalf of the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces.”
He continued: “The action being taken today comes after the Treasury Department, on March 9, 2023, included a network based in the People’s Republic of China on the sanctions list, in connection with Iran’s efforts to supply drones and several previous measures targeting Iranian drone manufacturers and their executives since September 2022.”
The statement added: “Iran’s activities to spread weapons destabilize stability in the Middle East region, and the United States will continue its attempts to disrupt Iran’s deployment of drones and its work with allies and partners to confront Iran’s deployment of weapons.”
