A Florida high school student is facing criminal charges after allegedly violently assaulting a school employee over a Nintendo Switch game.
The video shows the student, who is 198 centimeters tall and weighs 122 kilograms, brutally attacking his teacher.
According to the arrest report, what the student told the school resource police was that he was annoyed that the teacher’s assistant had taken the Nintendo Switch from him, and that every time the game was taken from him, he would hit her.
The incident took place last Tuesday in Flagler County, where the student appeared to be beating his teacher’s assistant after he knocked her to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked her, while the lady appeared motionless.
A number of staff and even students – whose faces were hidden – can be seen trying to push the student away from her, but he continued punching and kicking. In the end, they managed to keep him on the ground, while the school employee took him to the hospital.
In a statement, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staley said, “This student’s actions are completely heinous and completely unjustifiable. We hope the victim will be able to recover mentally and physically from this incident. Fortunately, students and staff came to the victim’s aid before the School Resource Police arrived.” Our school should be a safe place for both staff and students.”
The mayor’s office arrested the student and charged him with severe battery and bodily harm.
The arrest report also shows that he dealt so violently with the school resource police that they had to handcuff him and take him to another location. The teen has also been transferred to the juvenile justice department.
