Ancelotti: I trust Benzema to return to scoring

Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid’s first Spanish soccer team, expressed that he was not worried about the team’s suffering in front of the goal, and indicated that he trusted Karim Benzema’s return to scoring goals.
Real failed to hit a single shot on goal in the match that it lost to Barcelona in the first leg of the King’s Cup semi-final, which is the first time that the team has failed to hit the goal since 2010.
Real made seven chances on goal in the team’s last league match, but they scored only one goal in the match in which they drew with Atletico Madrid 1-1.
Benzema played throughout the two matches without scoring, but his absence from scoring was preceded by scoring two goals in the match that Real won 5-2 over Liverpool.
The France international has scored 18 goals in 26 games this season, and Ancelotti defended Benzema’s performance ahead of the Real Betis game.
Ancelotti said in the press conference, Saturday: «It is not possible to be at your best levels in every match, Karim does not worry me because I see that he is in good shape, he is in good physical condition, better than he was in the first half of the season. On the offensive level, collectively, we are very good.
He added, “We are the most goals-scoring team in the league. Benzema failed to score goals in some specific moments, nothing more, but there is no offensive problem. We scored five goals at Anfield.”
