Al-Hilal .. the fifth final in the Asian Champions League

Al-Hilal first football team qualified for the final of the AFC Champions League with its new system since 2003, for the fifth time, after defeating Al-Duhail of Qatar 7-0 in the semi-finals, on Sunday, to set a date with the Japanese team, Urawa Red Diamonds, in the final of the continental championship.
Al-Azraq reached the final of the AFC Champions League for the fifth time in its history, after the years 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2021, with its qualification to the final for the third time in the last 4 years of the tournament.
Al Hilal defeated Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates in the semi-finals of the 2014 edition, 4-2 on aggregate, before losing the final against Sydney, Australia, with a score of 0-1 in the two matches, and Al-Azraq returned to defeat Iran’s Persepolis, 6-2 on aggregate, during the semi-finals of the 2017 edition. Before losing in the final against Japan’s Urawa, 1-2 in both meetings.
The defending champion defeated Qatar’s Al-Sadd in the 2019 semi-finals, 6-5 in the two matches, to win the title at the expense of Urawa Red Diamonds in the final, after winning the first leg with a goal and winning the second leg with two goals free of charge.
The capital team achieved the championship again in 2021, after crossing victory in the semi-finals by defeating it 2-1, and then defeating the South Korean Pohang Steelers with two free goals in the final.
It is worth noting that the fifth final of Al-Hilal in the AFC Champions League will be against Japan’s Urawa, where the first leg will be played in Riyadh on April 29, with the second leg in Japan on May 6.
