Al-Hilal targets the second Asian final through the Qatari portal

Al-Hilal first football team aspires to reach the AFC Champions League final for the second time at the expense of a Qatari club, when it faces its counterpart Al-Duhail, Sunday, at Al-Thumama Stadium in Doha, the Qatari capital, in the semi-final round.
The confrontation of a Qatari team in the Golden Square renews beautiful memories for Al-Hilali, after their team succeeded in overcoming the Qatari Al-Sadd hurdle during the semi-finals of the 2019 tournament, by defeating it 4-1 in the first leg, and losing 2-4 in the second leg, before crowning its successful career by defeating Japan’s Urawa. 0 in the first leg, and 2-0 in the final, and tamed the continental title that eluded him for so long.
And now the scene is repeated, as Al-Hilal has to remove another Qatari team to meet Urawa as well, and defend its title in the final of the tournament, which takes place according to the home-and-away system, after absence in the last two editions.
In addition to outperforming a Qatari competitor, Al-Azraq will reach the fifth and second consecutive final in its history at the level of the AFC Champions League in its new version in 2003, after the years 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2021.
Al-Hilal reached the semi-finals, after beating Foolad Al-Irani with a goal, while Al-Duhail of Qatar qualified for the same round by defeating Al-Shabab 2-1.
On the other hand, Al-Duhail of Qatar is experiencing the challenge of the semi-finals for the first time in its history, seeking to reach the final, and then repeat what his compatriot Al-Sadd did when he gifted his country its only title in the AFC Champions League in 2011.
