Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Asian Football Confederation announced, on Wednesday, the nominees for the Best Player Award in the West Asian region, during last February, by vote of the fans.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the player of the Saudi club Al-Nasr, was among the six candidates for the award.
The 38-year-old Portuguese star’s nomination for the Best Award for last month comes after his contribution to scoring 10 goals in the “Roshen” league competition, as he scored 8 and made 2.
Ronaldo competes for the award: Odion Ighalo (Saudi Al-Hilal striker), Codjo Laba (Emirati Al-Ain striker), Omar Al-Soma (Qatari Al-Arabi striker), Mahdi Abdul-Jabbar (Manama Bahraini player), and Aso Rustam (Iraqi police player).
The Nigerian Ighalo had succeeded in scoring 5 goals with the “Crescent Blue”, in the elimination rounds of the Asian Champions League competition.
It is noteworthy that Cristiano Ronaldo won the award for the best player in the Saudi League last month, as his first individual achievement in the stadiums of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since joining the ranks of the “Al-Alamy”.
