The balance appears equal between Al-Hilal first football team and its counterpart Al-Fateh during their confrontations in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, before they meet, on Tuesday, at Prince Faisal Bin Stadium in Riyadh in the quarter-finals.
Since the launch of the new edition of the competition in 2008, the two teams have faced each other 4 times, and both have won twice.
The beginning was in 2010, when Al-Hilal won back-to-back “3-1” and back “5-0” in the quarter-finals, before losing the title to Al-Ittihad in the final match, by penalty kicks, “4-5”.
After two seasons, the two teams met again, in the third-place match, in which Al-Fateh won 3-0 in 2012, and the meeting was renewed again between the Al-Asimi team and its counterpart from Al-Ahsa, in the round of 16 of the 2020 edition, and it ended in favor of Al-Fateh with a clean double.
It is noteworthy that tonight’s match will be the third between the Al-Asimi and Al-Ahsa team during the current season, after two matches in the Saudi Roshen League, in which the two sides exchanged victories, as Al-Azraq won 1-0 in the first round, and Al-Fateh responded with a score of 2-1 for the account of the second round.
