Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi club Al Hilal defeated its Iranian counterpart Foolad, with a goal without a response, in their match that was held on the grounds of Al Janoub Stadium in Qatar, on Thursday evening, in the quarter-finals of the 2022 AFC Champions League.
Musa Marega scored the only goal for the Blue Crescent, at the 87th minute, with a shot from inside the penalty area.
Al-Hilal club stumbled to visit the Iranian club’s net, despite its control of the ball and creating opportunities, before it succeeded in deciphering the opponent’s defense codes in the last minutes of the match, through a shot from the financial striker.
With this victory, the “Crescent Blue” set a date with Al-Duhail, Qatar, in the semi-finals of the Asian (Championship) competition, on the grounds of Al-Thumama Stadium, next Sunday.
The Qatari club was superior to the Saudi youth club, with two goals to one.
Michael Olonga scored Al Duhail’s goal, while Al Shabab’s goal came through Saeed Al-Rubaie.
