The Abha team returned to the top of the Saudi Reserve League, after defeating Al-Wehda, its guest, with a score of 1-0, on Saturday, at the Damak Club stadium in Khamis Mushait, in the second round of the competition.
The southern team waited until the 73rd minute, to be able to settle the match with a goal scored by Saad Al-Salouli.
Al-Abhawi’s victory over Al-Wahda comes the day after its loss to the same team, 1-2, in the 18th “Foundation Day” round of the Saudi Roshan League.
With this result, he raised his score to 14 points, taking the lead from Al-Fateh, which fell to second place, while Al-Wehda remained in fourth place with 10 points.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Football Association approved the reserve league as part of the competitions of the current sports season, with the participation of 7 teams, namely: Al-Shabab, Al-Ittifaq, Abha, Al-Fateh, Al-Fayhaa, Al-Ta’i and Al-Wahda, with the full league system “back and forth”, provided that its matches are synonymous with the confrontations of the Saudi Roshan League.
