A video recording a side conversation between Putin and Xi before the latter left Moscow ignites an interaction

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – International media and activists on social media shared a video clip of a side conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, prior to the latter’s departure from Moscow, which ignited a wide interaction.

The British Daily Mail newspaper translated the dialogue with a report in which it said: “Xi said to Putin through his translator: Change is coming and has not happened in 100 years… We are leading this change together… Please take care of yourself, my dear friend,” before Putin replied, wishing Xi a “trip.” Safe”.

Earlier during the Chinese president’s visit to Moscow, Xi Jinping described his relationship with President Putin as “eternal friendship,” while Putin said the two stood “shoulder to shoulder” in the face of “the increasingly aggressive US efforts to deter Russia and China.”

Trade between China and Russia rose to $190 billion last year, up 30% from 2021, undermining the impact of US-led sanctions as Chinese companies snap up cheap energy from Russia, giving the Kremlin key funds to fund the invasion.
