Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Egyptian Football Association announced, on Tuesday, the Referees Committee’s decision to suspend the refereeing staff for the Suez and Al-Nasr match, in the 22nd round of Group Two of the Premier League B, for an indefinite period.
The match referees’ crew consists of: Muhammad Farouk (yard referee), Ahmed Al-Mazoun and Ezz El-Din Jamal (two assistants), and Tamer Khamis (fourth referee).
The Football Association in Egypt revealed the opening of a comprehensive investigation into the incident when referee Mohamed Farouk used a mobile phone to review one of the footage of the events of the meeting, which was held on the grounds of the new Suez Stadium, last Friday afternoon.
And Egyptian press reports stated that the referee, Mohamed Farouk, had counted a goal for Al-Nasr club, which angered and objected to the opposing team, and led to the match being stopped for minutes, which prompted the referee to use a mobile phone to review the validity of the goal, before deciding to cancel it permanently.
