(CNN) — The Central Command of the US Army (Centcom) announced, on Monday, that two missiles were fired at an American base in northeastern Syria.
“The attack, which took place on Monday night, did not result in any injuries to US forces or coalition forces, and did not damage the infrastructure or equipment at the (Green Village) base,” Centcom said in a statement.
She added that the US forces found the wreckage of the two missiles, and added that the attack was still under investigation, and stated: “No party has claimed responsibility for the missile attack.”
It is noteworthy that last week, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, visited, for the first time, US forces in Syria, and that short, unannounced visit sparked sharp criticism from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which it described as an “illegal visit.”
